Skype, the free voice-over-Internet Protocol (VoIP) software
application, from its Options window. Although the default sounds are
enough for most users, you can customize every one of them and add
your own custom sounds. Skype only recognizes WAV files, so all your
sounds must be in WAV format. You can find thousands of free WAV
sounds on the Web.
Step 1
Launch Skype and log in using your
Skype name and password.

Click "Tools" at the top
of the window and select "Options" from the drop-down menu.
The Options window pops up.

Click "Sounds" in the left
navigation pane to switch to the Sounds section of the Options
window.

Click the "Import Sounds"
button.

Select your custom sounds using the
resulting file browser. All sounds must be in WAV format.

Click "Open" to import the
sounds in Skype.

Select the first sound you want to
change from the Select Which Events Play a Sound list. The current
sound is displayed in the Choose Which Sound to Play box.

Click the Choose Which Sound to Play
box to view all sounds, including the sounds you just imported.

Select one of the custom sounds from
the list.

Repeat the process to change other
sounds.

Click "Save" at the bottom
of the Options window to save the new sounds and close the window.
